Introduction

Each year, the research team at Cause and Social Influence tracks the behaviors and motivations of young Americans (ages 18-30) related to social issues and major movements. The 2020 election is definitely a major moment.

In this first research wave of fall 2020, we have expanded our study to determine the behaviors by and influences on young Americans related to the 2020 presidential election. The expanded reports will be published throughout October and November. The Influencing Young America to Act-2020 Election Wave 1 Research Report is the first in this series.

Methodology

Cause and Social Influence initiative researches took a quantitative approach with an online survey fielded Oct. 3-4, 2020, of 1,011 young Americans (ages 18-30) - a nationally representative sample based on census-projected ethnic and demographic composition. With this response rate, the data presented has a 95% confidence interval and 3% margin of error.
